“Our state as a whole continues to move up in the ranks in competitiveness, despite budget cuts. Although the President’s trillion dollar investment plan has not been unveiled, investing a portion of that within our region and throughout our state will go a long way in supporting our community’s continued growth.”
Rocky Rockett, executive director/president of the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation, said Haughton’s proximity to the interstate and metro area, along with its availability of land makes it a prime location for growth.
It may be the end of the calendar year, but it’s only the beginning for GBEDF as we are already working to ensure success for 2017. Reflecting on 2016 brings one word to mind … impact. This year was filled with milestone events for the community that will impact and shape generations to come.
The GBEDF has prioritized positioning the region to support economic advancements, which led to the investments in Bossier’s digital presence.
“A community’s digital presence is now often its first impression; a one-time opportunity to offer a virtual handshake. We believe our focus on a digital presence will help to creatively communicate the area’s accolades and unique culture,” said GBEDF Executive Director Rocky Rockett.
This has been a project many years in the making. Leaders in the community have been working together to support Barksdale and address both access and security concerns through congressional delegation visits and meetings at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

According to the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation data, Bossier City’s population could rise to over 80,000 residents by 2019.
GBEDF redesigned the site to be one of its primary marketing tools for Bossier Parish. The site is built around Bossier’s strong selling points and offers comprehensive decision making information and market data.
Bossier leaders visited Washington, D.C., through Wednesday to conduct appointments and bring regional priorities to national leaders as part of the BC to DC Washington Fly-in, sponsored by the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation (GBEDF).
GBEDF worked closely with Coburn on their expansion in Northwest Louisiana. Along with the $1.5M investment comes 30 new jobs for Bossier!
