SHREVEPORT REGIONAL AIRPORT
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has honored Shreveport Regional Airport with two awards for its efforts to promote safety and efficiency. In addition to being named 2009 Louisiana Airport of the Year, the airport was singled out among airports in the five-state Southwest Region for an Excellence in Construction Safety award. The FAA’s Southwest Region includes Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

NLCOG, the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Northwest Louisiana, is responsible
for transportation planning in the Shreveport-Bossier City urbanized area and maintains a Long Range
Transportation Plan (LRTP) for all types of transportation improvements in the region. In that
capacity, NLCOG works closely with the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LADOTD),
local jurisdictions and our Federal partners, namely FHWA, FTA, and EPA transportation plans and programs.
