RANKINGS & SCORES
Community & Technical College Recognition:
Two of the area schools, Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) and Northwestern Louisiana Technical College, were ranked in the 2010 Community College Week’s Top 100 Associate Degree Producers list. BPCC was ranked #14 for producing 44 Community Technologies/Technicians and Support Services degrees in 2009 and Louisiana Technical College was ranked #45 as the fastest growing two-year college, with an enrollment increase of 21 percent. Both of these colleges continue to advance facilities and programs for their students to continue receiving degrees for high-skilled jobs, which in turn improves the area’s economic growth.
Four-Year College & University Recognition:
With award-winning faculty, programs and students, these schools continue to set precedents. Since 75% of LSU Shreveport’s faculty members hold doctoral degrees in their disciplines, it’s no wonder the debate team has captured multiple national championship titles (2003, 2009 and 2011). And the same can be said for the athletic teams as well, like the #13 NAIA ranked baseball team. Centenary College of Louisiana has received much accolade by earning the regional School of the Year award for Residence Life Programs at the Southwest Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls 2011 conference. These exceptional institutions, and the other area colleges and universities, are preparing our citizens with the knowledge and experience necessary to contribute to the exciting growth of the Bossier area.
